Madonna has her new perfume hand-delivered by male models

Beauty editors in New York received an early Christmas present from Madonna: her new scent 'Truth or Dare' and two male models.

Madonna knows how to win the hearts and minds of beauty editors. With a new fragrance to promote called Truth or Dare, how does the original Material Girl make an impression on journalists drowning in perfume samples and inundated with makeup freebies? She sends the female-dominated offices of a glossy all a flutter by sending her perfume hand-delivered by two male models

Allure 's Beauty News Editor, Heather Muir was greeted by a model dressed all in black and another in white: the scent is "a white floral that plays on dual forces: gardenia and tuberose" - two notes that remind Madge of her mother.

Truth or Dare will be unveiled in the UK in May 2012.

"I have always been obsessed by fragrance," Madonna told WWD last month. "And for years I wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well. Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare".



Move over Elle Macpherson, Karlie Kloss is the new Body in town

Karlie Kloss is having a year to remember. After turning 19, she was tapped by Victoria's Secret to be their newest "Angel", one of the most lucrative contracts in the modelling industry. The job turns a model into a household name: when the fashion show aired in the US on Tuesday night 10.3 million people switched on to watch. And as every past and present Victoria's Secret model will tell you, being deemed an "Angel" opens many other doors.

Now Vogue Italia has celebrated Kloss's extraordinary limbs in a coveted "one-girl" story shot by the model maker, Steven Klein. The editorial's headline reads "Body by Kloss".

By the age of 18, as Kloss was finishing up highschool in St. Louis, Missouri, she became a face for Prada and Dior. She is currently ranked number four in the world on models.com's Top 50 Models list (Lara Stone is number one). At her first New York Fashion Week in 2008, she walked in 31 shows.

Steven Meisel has said she is "a model right down to her fingertips". Patrick Demarchelier loves her emotion in front of the camera, which you can see for yourself in a Telegraph Magazine behind-the-scenes video shoot with Kloss.


But to wrest the moniker of "The Body" from Elle Macpherson is a feat not even Gisele has managed during a career - and she has outperformed the Dow Jones .

Lady Gaga 'Doing Prep' For Tour, Next Album

Lady Gaga is hard at work. The Mother Monster is already coming up with ideas for 2012's Born This Way Tour and even thinking about her next album. When MTV News caught up with pal and musical collaborator DJ White Shadow, he talked about what the Haus has in store for Gaga.

"She's doing prep for the next round of touring, and she's always doing 25,000 things in a row," he told MTV News last week when he stopped by to chat about the opening of Gaga's pop-up holiday shop at Barneys. "But I think the main focus for her after this season is going to be prepping up for the show, touring new songs for the record."

Gaga has hinted that she'd like to get Elton John on this next record, but, right now, anything goes. White Shadow — who has worked with Gaga extensively on Born This Way, including on the tracks "Born This Way" and "Americano" — is ready to drop everything to collaborate with Gaga again.

"I want to try and be as close to it as possible, that way I don't have to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning and fly to L.A. or wherever or Japan or wherever she's starting to do stuff," he explained. "Maybe when the tour starts, she's working all the time. I send her stuff and she sends stuff. She's always working on something. It just depends. I know she likes to write when she's on the road, [so maybe she'll make a] new album during the tour."

Given the pair's track record, expect across-the-board sounds on the next project. "The kind of stuff that I send her, some of it is so crazy that I don't know what you'd call it," he said. "When I make stuff ... I know what's for her and what's not for her. Some of it's structured as songs and some of it is structured as madness, and she goes through it like a gold miner."

Dita Von Teese models her new lingerie range

Dita Von Teese is the face of 'Von Follies', her lingerie line which launches next year.


Dita Von Teese is launching her lingerie line next year. In the grand scheme of celebrity collections, this makes more sense than, say, Kanye going guns blazing into womenswear : the woman spends more time in her bras and knickers than proper clothes, so should know a thing or two about designing the stuff.

As expected from old Hollywood-aping Von Teese, the line, called Von Follies, is vintage-inspired and includes bras, high-waisted pants, garter belts and corselettes (think swimsuit shape, shapewear function). Details like grosgrain, velvet ribbons and lace apparently "give the essence of the sultry Fifties glamour girl," according to a press release. Or, say, Von Teese? Naturally, she's the face of her range (see picture).

The Fifties styling extends to the sizing, which seems to have the era's figure in mind: selected bras will go up to an E cup, and knickers to a UK size 18.

Australia gets first dibs on the collection next February, before it's rolled out internationally.

Rihanna turns designer for Armani

The singer has turned her hand to designing jeans and lingerie for the Italian fashion giant.


Bajan pop sensation Rihanna might love to rock a neon, bejewelled bra and fishnets on stage, but when's she's off-duty, she can often be seen in a T-shirt and simple pair of jeans - just like the rest of us.

It is fitting then, that she has chosen to team up with Emporio Armani Jeans and underwear - of whom she is currently the face - to create a capsule collection of casual pieces.

The range features two styles of jeans in a tight boyfriend fit and skinny leg; a leather biker jacket; a canvas bag and two T-shirts - one emblazoned with an illustration of the 23-year-old, the other featuring Rihanna's "R" logo. Admirers of the bandana headband which RiRi wore during her X Factor performance last weekend will be pleased to hear that a similarly styled belt also features in the collection.


Not forgetting that underwear is just as important as outerwear, the 'Rihanna for Emporio Armani' lacy bra and knicker sets come in cobalt blue and pearl grey and are ideal for everyday wear.


Lady Gaga's unveils her Workshop at Barneys

The eccentric singer has created her own 'Santa's Workshop' at the luxury department store in New York.



Christmas has well and truly arrived for Lady Gaga. The eccentric singer unveiled her Santa's Workshop-style shopping emporium at Barneys New York to a bevy of screaming fans last night.

Armed with a pair of giant pair of fluorescent scissors, the Born This Way singer posed under an enormous cartoon-like façade (made to look like the mouth of a monster Lady Gaga) outside the luxury department store's entrance, to cut the large opening ribbon.

Inside, taking over the 5,500-square foot fifth floor of Barneys Madison Avenue Men's store, Gaga's Workshop comes to life with bright installations such as a jewellery shop created out of an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider, and a boudoir in the shape of a giant wig - dispensing Gaga's famous bow headbands fashioned from hair. A candy shop, toy shop, closet space, dedicated jewellery area as well as a library and gallery complete the departments on offer.

"There's all sorts of affordable presents here, and they are guilt free. It's the dream of what music and culture are all about, and these are things that can get lost when you focus too much on commercialism," said 25-year-old Gaga at the opening.

"This is, for me, a much more whimsical approach, a Pop Art approach."
Gaga teamed up with her stylist Nicola Formichetti and artist Eli Sudbrack in collaboration with Barneys's creative director Dennis Freedman to curate the space and create exclusive products such as lollipops and snowstorms emblazoned with the singer's face.

"Gaga's Workshop is the largest and most completely realised holiday project ever undertaken in the history of Barneys New York and we are beyond thrilled to present it this season," said Mark Lee, chief executive officer.

Barneys New York will donate 25 per cent of sales from all items featured in Gaga's Workshop to the Born This Way Foundation , recently founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, which focuses on youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilise digital mobilisation as one of the means to create positive change.
